All personnel of WNC convey their best wishes to the intrepid Jiya Rai Swimmer Jiya as she soon embarks on the formidable challenge to swim across the English Channel. The indomitable Jiya has won wide acclaim for her swimming prowess, including the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar. In March 2022, she created a new world record for the fastest swim across the Palk Strait, crossing the 29 km stretch in 13 hours and 10 min.
In her meeting with Vice Admiral Sanjay J Singh, FOCINC WNC and President NWWA (WR) on 04 July 2024, Jiya conveyed her desire to dedicate her upcoming gruelling quest to Autism Awareness.
