Merged Artificer Apprentice Course (MAAC 38) course, comprising 77 trainees from the IndianNavy, Indian Coast Guard and friendly foreign Navies FFN and Agniveer (ME) course, comprising 335 male and 55 women trainees successfully completed professional training at INS Shivaji, Lonavala on 01 August 2024. Spanning over several months, the rigorous professional training program is designed to equip the trainees with advanced technical knowledge and skills essential for their roles onboard ships. The merged batch of Artificer Apprentices and Agniveers underwent intensive training on wide range of subjects like marine engineering, electrical systems and information technology, thus becoming well-prepared to meet the demands of modern Naval operations. The holistic training not only focuses on technical proficiency but also emphasises leadership, discipline and core values of the Indian Navy. The culmination of the training was marked by a ceremonial Divisions reviewed by Commodore Sameer Chaudhry, Commanding Officer, INS Shivaji. Addressing the course during the Divisions, he highlighted the importance of continuation learning and adaptation in the ever-evolving maritime domain and exhorted them to uphold the three most important tenets of Duty, Honour and Courage. He commended the training faculty for their dedicated efforts and professionalism in shaping skilled marine engineers. Amongst the MAAC Course, Deep Kumar AG LME, stood First in Overall Order of Merit and was awarded Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (South) Gold Medal. Ganesh Mohan Sutar, LH, was adjudged Best Sportsman of the course and awarded Commodore's Rolling Trophy and Book Prize. Ackon Belmiro Smedo LS, from the Ghana Navy was adjudged First in Order of Merit amongst the international trainees. Amongst the Agniveers, Deepak, AVR(ME) stood first in the Overall Order of Merit (Men) and Geeta Joshi AVR (ME) stood First in Overall Order of Merit (Women) and were awarded Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (South) Trophy.
