As part of celebrations of the 78th Independence Day and to bolster community engagement in environmental conservation, the first phase of the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam and Plant for Mother campaign saw series of tree plantation drives across various Stations of the Eastern Naval Command ENC on 15 August 2024. This initiative, which took place on both naval premises and surrounding civilian areas, brought together Indian Navy and Defence Security Corps DSC personnel, Defence civilians, and families in a unified effort to honour and protect our environment. The 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign is a tribute to the nurturing spirit and enduring legacy of mothers. By encouraging individuals to plant a tree in their mother's name, the campaign seeks to symbolize the care and growth that mothers provide. The initiative underscores the importance of environmental stewardship and aims to foster a deeper connection between individuals and nature. Events unfolded at multiple locations, with participants enthusiastically engaging in planting trees that will contribute to local green spaces and biodiversity. This collective effort not only serves to enhance environmental sustainability but also promotes community spirit and personal connections through shared values and actions.
