The 5th edition of Kochi Navy Marathon KNM, a flagship event of Navy Week celebrations in God's own country, is scheduled on 15 December 2024. The marathon will feature three race categories viz. 21 Km (Venduruthy Run), 10 Km (Dronacharya Run) and 05 Km (Garuda Run). The race will commence and finish at Sagarika Cruise Terminal, Kochi. A curtain raiser press conference presided by Rear Admiral Upal Kundu, Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command SNC was held at Naval Base, Kochi on 17 October 2024. Addressing the press conference, Chief of Staff, SNC emphasised that Kochi Navy Marathon is more than a sporting event, as it seeks to spread the culture of physical fitness and mental toughness which are the hallmarks of Indian Navy and promotes the Government of India GoI, initiative of Fit India and Khelo Bharat Khelo. Drawing participants from Kerala, neighbouring states, and across the nation, Kochi Navy Marathon invites seasoned runners, fitness enthusiasts, and families alike to join in this celebration. It's an opportunity to engage with Indian Navy and gain insights into the dedication of the men and women in whites. During the press conference, a promotional video on the KNM was also released. The event is expected to draw huge participation from various schools, colleges and major institutions and acclaimed runners from across the country. In the run up to main event on 15 December 2024, three Training Runs and two Promo Runs are scheduled in the month of October and November at prominent locations of the city. Online registrations for the marathon commenced on 17 October 2024, through the official website https://kochinavymarathon.com. Those registering for the event prior 18 November 2024 will get early bird discount and first 500 registrations will get personalized T-Shirts.
