Eastern Naval Command (ENC) marked Vijay Diwas with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony held at the 'Victory at Sea' War Memorial, RK Beach, Visakhapatnam, on 16th December. This event commemorated the supreme sacrifices of the Armed Forces personnel during the 1971 War.
Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, Chief of Staff, ENC, along with other dignitaries, placed floral wreaths at the War Memorial as a mark of respect and gratitude to the valiant service personnel who laid down their lives for the Nation. A 50-men Guard was paraded at the venue, and a two-minute silence was observed to honour the bravery and selflessness of the Indian Armed Forces.
This solemn tribute served as a poignant reminder of the courage, valour, and unwavering dedication displayed by the Armed Forces in securing a historic victory that led to the liberation of Bangladesh. The 1971 war remains a significant chapter in India’s history, symbolising the resilience and might of the nation’s Armed Forces.
