13th edition of ‘Admiral’s Cup’ Sailing Regatta concluded on 13 December 2024 with a scintillating closing ceremony at Ettikulam Beach at INA, Ezhimala. Team Russia represented by Lieutenant Gorkunov Petr llyich and Cadet Loshichinina Polina Vladislavovna won the Admiral's Cup 24. Team Italy represented by Midshipman Carlo Leonardo and Ensign Camilla Bernabei was the Runners-Up and Team India/ INA ‘A’ represented by Sub-Lieutenant Japman Avtar and Cadet PK Reddy finished third. Lieutenant Gorkunov Petr llyich from Russia stood first in the individual position in the men’s category followed by Second Lieutanant Darius Lee Kheng Wee from Singapore and Ensign Pappas Vissarion HN from Greece at second and third positions respectively. Ensign Camilla Bernabei from Italy finished first in the individual position in women’s category followed by Cadet Loshichinina Polina Vladislavovna from Russia and Sub-Lieutenant Isha Shah from India at second and third positions respectively. Vice Admiral CR Praveen Nair, Commandant, INA, the chief guest for the closing ceremony, presented the ‘Admiral’s Cup’, Runners Up trophy and the individual prizes. The Admiral’s Cup witnessed closely contested sailing races in Laser Radial boats during race days held from 09 to 13 December 2024. A total of 53 participants, including 14 female participants displayed their sailing skills in the Laser Radials in challenging wind and weather conditions as they squeezed every knot out of their boats over the past four days of the races. The event has gained substantial popularity since its inception in 2010. The 13th edition of Admiral’s Cup Sailing Regatta 2024, saw participation from 25 countries and Indian teams from INA, Ezhimala and NDA, Khadakwasla. Apart from the competitive racing during five day event, the visiting foreign teams and accompanying officials were involved in various activities which included visit to training and sporting facilities located at INA, fitness trek to Mount Dilli and a cultural package showcasing India's rich traditions, languages, culture, dance and art forms. The event culminated in a grand finale with the closing ceremony on 13 December 2024.
