Visakhapatnam, 02 January 2025:
1. Eastern Naval Command is all set to present a breath-taking Operational Demonstration (Op Demo) at the iconic Ramakrishna Beach, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This grand spectacle will be graced by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, as the Chief Guest. The event will be hosted by Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command. Final rehearsals for the event was reviewed by the FOCinC East on Thursday.
2. This high-energy event will not only exhibit the Indian Navy’s operational capabilities but also underscore the deep-rooted connection between Visakhapatnam and the Eastern Naval Command. Known as the "City of Destiny," Visakhapatnam serves as the headquarters of the Eastern Naval Command and holds a pivotal place in India’s maritime history and security framework. The people of Andhra Pradesh have a long-standing association with the Indian Navy, reflected in their unwavering support and respect for naval personnel.
3. The Operational Demonstration will feature a striking display of maritime power by many warships, naval aircraft and submarines. High-speed manoeuvers by Hawk Fighter Jets, Combat Free Fall and Slithering Demonstrations from helicopters, showcasing synergy of land-sea operations and warship firings would be key highlights of the event.
4. The evening of 04 Jan 24 (Saturday) also promises an array of spectacular performances at the beach, culminating in a traditional beating retreat ceremony by the ENC Band. A mesmerising Continuity Drill, followed by a fireworks extravaganza, drone displays, and a state-of-the-art laser show, will make the event an unforgettable experience, leaving attendees filled with pride and awe.
5. This demonstration is not just a showcase of naval prowess but also include a horn pipe dance reflecting maritime heritage, presenting by sea cadets from Visakhapatnam. Live stream of the event would be available on Indian Navy Social media channels including Eastern Naval Command “X” Handle in addition to live broadcast by Doordarshan Channel, for those who are unable to be present at R K Beach to witness the event in person.
6. Residents and visitors are requested to cooperate with the traffic guidelines issued by local authorities, including adherence to designated parking areas and specific routes to be followed for smooth traffic flow on 04 January 2025.
7. The public is also requested to refrain from littering the areas in and around RK Beach as it poses hazards to naval aircraft during aerial demonstrations. Flying of drones, kites, or any other aerial objects is strictly prohibited on 04 January 2025.
8. The Indian Navy has warmly invited all citizens to attend this magnificent event, a celebration of India’s rich maritime heritage and the Navy’s unwavering spirit and strength and make it a memorable start to the New Year.
