On the occasion of the 79th Independence Day, a composite team of 36 personnel comprising Officers, Sailors, Defence Civilians and DSC Jawans of Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam successfully undertook a Trekking Expedition cum Nature Camp to Armakonda , the highest peak of Andhra Pradesh, located at an altitude of 1,680 metres (approximately 5,512 feet).

The expedition was formally flagged off by the Admiral Superintendent, Dockyard on 14 August 2025 as part of the 60 Days Psychological Challenge, an initiative aimed at enhancing physical fitness, resilience and mental well-being. The team reached the summit on 15 August 2025, where the National Flag was ceremonially hoisted to mark the auspicious occasion.

The successful conduct of the expedition fostered a spirit of patriotism, camaraderie and adventure among the participants, while also providing an opportunity to experience the natural heritage and biodiversity of the region.
