A Training Delegation headed by Commodore Adnan Salim, Commandant Sultan Qaboos Naval Academy of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) visited Southern Naval Command SNC units at KOCHI and Indian Naval Academy INA, Ezhimala from 18 -21 August 2025. The visit was aimed at fostering deeper understanding of Indian Navy’s training curriculum, pedagogical framework, and evaluation methodologies. During the visit, the delegation was provided comprehensive overview of Indian Navy’s professional training aspects including interactive presentations on curriculum design and quality assurance mechanisms. The programme also included field visits to Seamanship school and Naval Air Station INS Garuda. The delegation witnessed state of art simulator demonstrations at Navigation & Direction School, and held discussions on best practices in Naval training. The delegation also called on Rear Admiral B S Sodhi, CSO (Training) HQSNC, and engaged in professional interactions on avenues of cooperation, training exchanges, and collaborative growth between the two Navies. At INA, the delegation visited various training infrastructure, simulators & waterfront facilities. Wide ranging discussions were held on aspects of training collaboration and engagements. The visit reaffirms longstanding maritime partnership and strategic ties between India and Oman, underscoring shared commitment towards enhanced interoperability, mutual learning, and regional maritime security.
