A proud moment for the nation and Indian Navy. Two frontline combatants — INS Udaygiri and INS Himgiri  — commissioned in the presence of Hon’ble Raksha Mantri, Shri Rajnath Singh at Naval Base, Visakhapatnam on 26 August. A significant milestone in India’s naval modernisation journey - both Project17A stealth frigates, equipped with cutting-edge weapons, sensors & stealth features, will enhance the Navy’s multi-dimensional warfighting capability. Constructed by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited MDL Mumbai and Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited GRSE Kolkata, with extensive  MSME participation, the ships stand as shining symbols of  Aatma nirbhar Bharat and India’s growing defence-industrial strength. The induction of these potent platforms reinforces the Navy’s vision of a Combat Ready, Credible, Cohesive & Future Ready Force, safeguarding India’s maritime interests  Anytime Anywhere Anyhow.
