Commodore VMD Jagannath assumed command of INS Tunir as also charge of Senior Officer Karanja on 28 August 2025, at a ceremonial parade held at Naval Station Karanja.
Holding a PhD in Management and an M.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Kanpur, Commodore Jagannath has held key operational, dockyard, training and staff roles. He is an alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College DSSC Wellington and the College of Defence Management CDM Secunderabad.
