Rear Admiral Vivek Dahiya, NM, assumed command of the Western Fleet from Rear Admiral Rahul Vilas Gokhale, YSM, NM, at a ceremonial parade on 27 September 2025. Commissioned on 01 July 1993, the officer is an alumnus of Naval Academy NAVAC,Mandovj, Kings Collage, London, Naval War College, Goa and National Defence College, New Delhi. A specialist in Navigation and Direction, he has held various key afloat and shore appointments, including command of IN Ships INS Karmuk and INS Chennai.
