Hon’ble Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh addressed the Naval Commanders’ Conference 2025 at the Nausena Bhawan in New Delhi on 23 October 2025. RM appreciated the Navy’s pivotal role in Operation Sindoor - lauding the courage, precision, and readiness demonstrated in safeguarding national interests and ensuring stability across the maritime domain. RM also acknowledged the Navy’s contribution to strengthening India’s maritime presence in the Indian Ocean Region MAHASAGAR Stating that the Navy has become a pioneer in India’s self-reliance, innovation & industrial development, Shri Rajnath Singh emphasised the importance of Aatmanirbharta in defence production reiterating the government’s commitment towards self-reliance and indigenisation. He also highlighted the need for equal emphasis on formulating strategy & acquiring state-of-the-art equipment to fight present-day wars. Commending the Indian Navy for its professionalism, commitment, and operational excellence, RM encouraged the Navy to continue leading from the front in securing India’s maritime frontiers and advancing the nation’s vision of a strong, secure, and self-reliant maritime power in the IOR.
