CNS ADDRESSED THE 40TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE ON MARINE MEDICINE & ALLIED SCIENCES

CNS addressed the 40th Annual Conference on Marine Medicine & Allied Sciences at INH SASVINI on 01 November 2025, held in conjunction with the IONS Medical Workshop. CNS lauded four decades of excellence in Marine Medicine and the spirit of collaboration among 14 participating nations in this year’s edition — reaffirming that medical readiness is operational readiness, and that quality care must reach the last sailor at the last nautical mile. CNS highlighted that even in an age of intelligent machines, it is human judgment, endurance, and empathy that remain central to mission success.

He outlined three imperatives to guide the future of naval medical care:

1. Deep Listening – to explore the frontiers of human potential and performance in the maritime domain.

2. Data- & Network-Driven Diagnostics – to harness AI, biometrics, and connected systems for real-time, informed medical decisions.

3. Holistic Intervention – to move from treatment to transformation, nurturing physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

CNS commended the Indian Navy’s medical fraternity for blending professionalism, innovation, and compassion — from telemedicine at sea to AI-enabled diagnostics resulting in strengthening not just combat platforms, but the personnel who operate them. The address echoed GoI’s vision of “MAHASAGAR”; a safe, secure, and healthy maritime world built on cooperation, trust, and shared progress.
