A five-member Myanmar Navy delegation headed by Commodore Kyaw Swa Htet, Commandant, Naval Training School of Myanmar, visited various training establishments under Headquarters, Southern Naval Command from 24 to 28 November 2025. The visit was aimed at enhancing bilateral training cooperation and sharing of best practices. The delegation visited Naval War College Goa, where they were briefed on mid-career courses and the prestigious Naval Higher Command Course conducted by Indian Navy. The delegation evinced keen interest in the methodology and strategic-level curriculum undertaken by NWC. Further, the delegation visited premier marine engineering training establishment, INS Shivaji, at Lonavala. They were familiarised with the training infrastructure including propulsion and auxiliary machinery training bays, modern workshops/ laboratories and Damage Control Simulators. At SNC, Kochi, the delegation visited various professional training schools and witnessed demonstration of training equipment & simulators. They were briefed on wide network of Naval training establishments spread across the country, including Indian Naval Academy at Ezhimala, submarine and aviation training schools, and specialised institutions for logistics and medical training. A tour of the sail training ship INS Sudarshini was also provided. 

Indian Navy has been extending professional training to Myanmar Navy for over two decades. More than 650 Naval personnel have undergone courses in various training schools. The visit of Myanmar Navy delegation reaffirms deep-rooted Naval ties, mutual trust and maritime cooperation between the two Navies.
