Delivering Navy Day 2025 Press Address from the decks of the indigenous warships INS Himgiri and INS Mumbai, Vice Admiral Sanjay Bhalla, FOCINC, Eastern Naval Command, reaffirmed the Navy Day 2025 theme:

“Indian Navy – Combat Ready, Cohesive, Aatmanirbhar – Safeguarding Seas for a Viksit, Samriddha Bharat.”

He lauded the courage, professionalism and sacrifice of every sailor, officer and defence civilian who remains unwavering in safeguarding our seas—secure and sovereign. Highlighting the Navy’s vast and multidimensional responsibilities, the CinC spoke of key recent operations in the Command, from OpSindoor to the ongoing HADR mission SagarBandhu in Sri Lanka.

He also outlined preparations for major international events to be hosted at Vizag in February 2026 — IFR 2026, MILAN 2026, and the IONS Conclave of Chiefs. Reaffirming that Indian Navy remains steadfast in strengthening India’s maritime security, he underscored its emergence as the preferred security partner. The Admiral also conveyed his gratitude to State Governments and civil administrations for their sustained support. During the interaction, the CinC engaged with the media, addressing queries across a wide spectrum of issues.
