On the occasion of World Meteorological Day on 23 March 2026, a symposium on the theme for the year 2026 Observing Today Protecting Tomorrow, was organised by Command Met Office HQWNC.
Mr. Bikram Singh SC- ‘G’, Head Regional Meteorological Center, Mumbai, was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Following opening remarks by Captain NK Chandra, Cd Met Officer WNC, the symposium included informative talks by Mr. Bikram Singh and Commander Jugal Kishore (Retd) about the importance of accurate weather observations. Closing remarks were delivered by Commodore Sunil Kumar Pandey, Cmde (S & S) WNC.
Naval personnel (serving and veterans), civil experts and school children were in attendance. Prizes were also awarded to school children to recognise participation in competitions held to commemorate the occasion.
