Rear Admiral Sameer Sanjay Pote, assumed charge as the 19th Flag Officer Submarines on 01 May 2026, taking over from Rear Admiral Chetan C Chandegave. An alumnus of the Indian Naval Academy, Rear Admiral Pote was commissioned into Indian Navy on 01 January 1996. An Anti-Submarine Warfare specialist, he brings wide ranging operational and staff experience to the appointment. Prior to assuming charge as FOSM he served as India’s Defence Adviser to the United Kingdom at HCI London. His command tenures include INS Sindhuvir. He is a graduate of the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and the College of Defence Management, Secun derabad.
