The 9th edition of the Vizag Navy Marathon (VNM) is set to return on 15 December 2024, marking a prominent event in the Vizag city’s sporting calendar. In preparation for this prestigious marathon, INS Kalinga, in collaboration with M/s VTRA and COMNETCEN (VZG), organized promo runs - a conditioning and strengthening program on 07 July 2024.
Mrs. Jaishi Hatangadi, Heritage Narrator graced the occasion and flagged off the event at RK Beach, Visakhapatnam.
This initiative provided a valuable platform for runners from Visakhapatnam and Indian Navy personnel to prepare for VNM 2024. It aimed not only to enhance physical conditioning but also to promote running as a healthy lifestyle choice. Competitive runners had the opportunity to gauge their timings and strive for improvement.
The second edition of this promotional run took place at R K Beach and Dolphin Hills. Navy personnel participated in the conditioning and strengthening run at Dolphin Hill, while citizens of Visakhapatnam tested their timings and engaged in the conditioning program at R K Beach.
More than 600 runners enthusiastically participated in these promo runs, underscoring their eagerness and dedication towards gearing up for VNM - 2024.
