The Joint Coastal Security Review Meeting for the state of Kerala was held at Thiruvananthapuram on 19 Jun 25. The meeting was co chaired by Vice Admiral V Srinivas, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Southern Naval Command & C-in-C Coastal Defence (South) and Dr A Jayathilak, IAS, Chief Secretary to the Govt of Kerala. Key representatives from various agencies including officials from the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, various departments of State Govt. along with Customs, Port Authorities attended the meeting. 

The apex level meeting was convened to conduct an annual review of Kerala's coastal security framework, assess progress made on previously identified issues and address emerging challenges in the maritime domain. Discussions included a comprehensive evaluation of all key coastal security aspects focussing on enhancing maritime safety and operational preparedness. 

Emphasis was laid on employment of innovative and indigenously developed technological means and collaborative solutions to bolster the coastal security construct. The meeting concluded with an actionable roadmap to build a robust framework towards strengthening coastal security of Kerala.
