Maritime History Society of India held late Admiral JG Nadkarni Memorial Lecture on 10 July 2024 on "Angria: A Historical Odyssey." Mr Sohail Rekhy, the author, in conversation with Commodore Srikant B Kesnur (Retd) explored the legacy of the legendary Maratha Naval Commander Sarkhel Kanhoji Angre. The event was attended by historians, maritime enthusiasts, naval personnel and students. Mr Raghuji Raje Angre, a descendant of Kanhoji Angre and noted cine artist Ms Waheeda Rehman Rekhy were also in attendance. Vice Admiral Sanjay J Singh FOCINC WNC the chief guest, noted the significance of Kanhoji Angre in development of Indiannavy operational concepts and doctrine. He felicitated the speakers for their valuable insights.
