The fourth Naval Aviation Indigenisation seminar was conducted by Southern Naval Command at Naval Aircraft Yard Kochi from 25 - 26 Jun 25. The seminar brought together leading aviation luminaries from across the country with the aim of leveraging the contemporary technology to revamp the indigenisation process in Naval aviation. The seminar holds significance as it endeavoured to gain self reliance in keeping with the Government of India’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat - 2047’. The seminar included presentations by CEMILAC (Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification), NCAM (National Centre for Additive Manufacturing) and IIT Madras coupled with a panel discussion. Insightful papers were presented by subject matter experts from the Indian Navy and Indian AirForce focussing on ongoing indigenisation reforms and strategies to foster innovation.
The event also featured a Naval Aviation Indigenisation Exposition which brought together various industries including MSMEs and startups, showcasing cutting edge indigenous solutions. The exposition was inaugurated by Shri APVS Prasad, Outstanding Scientist, Chief Executive (Airworthiness), CEMILAC in the presence of RAdm Anshuman Chauhan, Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Air Materiel). More than 50 firms participated in the Expo. The seminar underscores the importance of collaboration and synergy amongst stakeholders in promoting indigenisation and innovation in the field of Naval aviation.
