On 21 January 2025, Team DCP, comprising Commodore Saurabh Agrawal, Commodore (Civilian Personnel), and Shri Avinash Sisodia, Joint Director (Civilian Personnel), Naval Headquarters NHQ, visited INS Shivaji. They called on Commodore Sameer Chaudhary, Commanding Officer, INS Shivaji, to discuss matters impacting the Naval Civilian workforce and deliberate on strategies to address challenges effectively. The team delivered an insightful lecture to the Staff and Student Officers of INS Shivaji on HR management of Naval Civilians. The session covered critical aspects such as performance appraisal, leave rules, disciplinary procedures, industrial relations, and initiatives undertaken as part of the Year of Naval Civilians. The lecture emphasised the significance of effective HR practices in fostering a positive work environment and enhancing productivity and morale. Team DCP also conducted an interactive session with the Naval Civilians of INS Shivaji, highlighting various initiatives introduced to improve their working environment. The session provided an opportunity to address workforce concerns and collaboratively explore actionable solutions. As part of the engagement, the team visited the Naval Engineering Museum, where Shri Elvis Mathew, Chargeman, conducted an outstanding briefing on the evolution of marine equipment and the Navy’s rich engineering heritage. The visit by Team DCP reinforced the commitment of Naval Headquarters to recognise, address, and enhance the contributions of Naval Civilians.
