Naval Dockyard Visakhapatnam under the Eastern Naval Command, hosted a Human Resource Conclave on 25 June 2025 to promote dialogue on modern HR practices, workforce transformation and innovation in defence civilian and public-sector domains.

Vice Admiral B Sivakumar, Director General Naval Projects (Visakhapatnam) presided over the event which brought together senior HR stakeholders from the Indian Navy, Ministry of Defence (Civil), academic institutions and industry leaders. The focus area of the conclave included HR policy reforms, digital transformation, skilling frameworks and strategies for managing the Navy’s large civilian workforce. 

The event featured talks by several renowned experts including the Director of IIT Tirupati, former Chief Leadership and Diversity Officer of TCS, the Director of Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) and leading specialists in organisational psychology and HR policy. The conclave also featured a closed-door workshop with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), aimed at identifying actionable strategies and reforms to future-proof HR systems. 

The conclave deliberated the critical role of civilian personnel in maintaining operational readiness and provided a timely forum to align HR practices with evolving global standards. Admiral Superintendent Rear Admiral K Srinivas thanked all participants for presenting meaningful discussions towards building healthy HR practices in Naval Units.
