A new Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme ECHS Polyclinic was inaugurated on 28 July 2025 at Visakhapatnam by Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, FOCINC Eastern Naval Command. This significant step further strengthens the commitment of Indian Navy towards the welfare of Armed Forces Veterans, Veer Naris and their dependents.
The newly inaugurated facility aims to enhance access to quality primary healthcare services for ECHS beneficiaries. The polyclinic is equipped with a General Outpatient Department (OPD), Dental Clinic, Pharmacy and a Clinical Laboratory. Additionally, provisions have been made for referrals to empanelled hospitals for specialised treatments as required.
The first ECHS polyclinic in Visakhapatnam has been operational for over two decades at INHS Kalyani and has been catering to the healthcare needs of approximately 55,000 beneficiaries. The establishment of the second polyclinic reaffirms the Indian Navy’s unwavering commitment to ensuring accessible and quality healthcare for its veteran community in and around Visakhapatnam.
