Rear Admiral Ajay Patney took over as Admiral Superintendent of Naval Dockyard Mumbai on 26 November 2025 from Rear Admiral Ankur Sharma, NM. Rear Admiral Ajay Patney was commissioned into Indian Navy on 30 November 1991. He is an alumnus of The Naval College of Engineering, Defence Service Staff College, Naval War College and National Defence College. He is also a postgraduate of IIT Delhi. The Flag Officer in his career spanning 34 years has held several Operational, Yard and Staff appointments. Some of his key appointments include Commanding Officer INS Valsura, ADG WESEE, AGM/DGM at ND(Mbi), Capt. (Personnel) and Capt. (Electrical Engg) at NHQ. The Flag Officer has also been the Asst Defence Advisor at the High Commission of India, Dhaka. On promotion to Flag Rank, he has tenanted the billets of ADGQ(Naval) and ASY(Kar) prior taking over the present appointment.
