Rear Admiral Mohamed Tahin, Inspector of Moroccan Royal Navy, accompanied by a two-member delegation, visited Southern Naval Command, Kochi from 26 to 28 November 2025 as part of his official visit to India. During the visit, Rear Admiral Tahin interacted with Rear Admiral Vidhyadhar Harke, Flag Officer Sea Training, and held discussions on enhancing training engagements and maritime cooperation between the two navies. The delegation was briefed on Indian Navy’s operational training frameworks. Rear Admiral Tahin highlighted the measures taken towards strengthening regional collaboration and capability enhancement as significant milestones in bilateral ties. India has recently signed an MoU on defence cooperation with Morocco in September 2025. The Moroccan delegation visited various training schools at SNC and witnessed demonstrations on advanced simulators and state-of-the-art training facilities. They also undertook a guided tour of the recently commissioned, indigenously built hydrographic survey ship INS Ikshak, and visited Cochin Shipyard to gain insights into India’s world-class shipbuilding and repair ecosystem. The visit of the Inspector of the Moroccan Royal Navy underscores the growing maritime partnership and reaffirms the shared commitment of both navies towards enhancing maritime security and regional stability.
