Surgeon Commodore B Vikas assumed command of INHS Sanjivani, the premier hospital of Southern Naval Command, on 19 December 2025, succeeding Surgeon Commodore R W Thergaonkar during a ceremonial Division. An accomplished medical officer, Surgeon Commodore Vikas is an alumnus of Naval War College and the National Defence College, and holds an Executive MBA from IIT Madras. His distinguished career includes key appointments as Fleet Medical Officer (West), Director (Provisioning) at DGAFMS and Senior Registrar at INHS Asvini.
