The Indian Navy undertook swift medical evacuation of a critically ill 7 year old child from Agatti Island of Lakshadweep on 25 May 25. A request was received from UT of Lakshadweep Administration for urgent medical evacuation of the patient. A Naval Dornier was immediately deployed from INS Garuda to Agatti Island at 1500 h in challenging weather conditions. The child along with parents were airlifted and brought to Kochi at 1810 h. On arrival, the patient was shifted to a civil hospital for further treatment. The successful medical evacuation from Lakshadweep Islands reaffirms Indian Navy's commitment to nation - Anytime, Anywhere.
