In pursuance of Indian Navy's visionary approach towards inculcating safety culture among naval personnel and the community, a two-day workshop on Road Safety and Prevention of Road Traffic Accidents was conducted for serving personnel of the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) and their families on 5th and 6th February 2025. The workshop led by Dr. Rohit Baluja, President, Institute of Road Traffic Education (IRTE) aimed at generating increased awareness on road safety. The workshop featured comprehensive lectures on road safety and traffic management, highlighting key aspects of responsible driving and accident prevention. To make the sessions more interactive and engaging, the event included a skit, a quiz competition, and an experience-sharing session by RTA survivors, providing first-hand insights into the consequences of road accidents.
The initiative saw enthusiastic participation from nearly 1300 personnel of ENC, validating the importance of road safety education in ensuring the well-being & safety of service members and their families. The workshop served as a suitable platform for knowledge dissemination and reinforced the commitment of the ENC towards fostering a culture of road safety and responsible driving.This event underscores the Chief of Naval Staff’s vision to safety and welfare, not only within the community but also in contributing to broader societal awareness.
