INS Investigator, the fourth survey vessel of Sandhyak class of Indian Navy completed 33 years of glorious service on 11 January 2023. The ship was Indigenously built by M/s GRSE, Kolkata and commissioned on 11 January 1990. The primary role of ship is hydrographic survey operations and can also undertake coastal and off shore patrol, coastal security, HADR operations and operate as a hospital ship. The ship has distinct privilege of serving under all Commands of Indian Navy as well as tri-services, ANC at Port Blair. The ship is presently based at SNC Kochi.
