On the eve of 74th Republic Day 2023, a friendly football match was organised by Bombay Gym Khana Club between Indian Navy and All Stars Football Club that comprises movie actors and TV artists. The match was keenly contested and went into extra time, but Navy team emerged winners with a score of 3-1. The All Stars team was led by Abhishek Bachchan while Navy XI was led by Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan. The Chief Guest, Vice Admiral AB Singh FOCINC WNC, stated that match was dedicated to welfare of Veer Naris, spouses of naval personnel that sacrificed their lives in line of duty. He emphasised that Navy never forgets its own and will do everything possible to support families of sailors lost while discharging their duties for nation.
