The Platinum Jubilee celebrations of NSRY Kochi culminated with a Technical Symposium at Naval Base, Kochi on 24 January 2023. Theme of symposium was Leveraging Homegrown Technology for ingenious Ship Repairs and Process Improvements. The Symposium witnessed a host of dignitaries from Shipyards, MSMEs, other industries and senior officers across verticals of Indian Navy. Inaugural address was delivered by Vice Admiral MA Hampiholi, FOCINC SNC , whereas keynote address was delivered by Vice Admiral Sandeep Naithani, COM. Technical expo was also setup at venue, showcasing indigenous capabilities and expertise in ship repairs for self reliance. Further, three separate MoUs between Indian Navy and MSMEs of Southern India Defence Corridor, namely, AIEMA (Ambattur Industrial Estate Manufacturers Association) at Chennai, TREAT (Tiruchirapalli Engineering and Technology Cluster) at Tiruchirapalli and CODISSIA (Coimbatore District Small Industries Association) were also signed.
