In a first of its kind at INHS Asvini, a child with congenital bilateral profound hearing loss was treated with bilateral cochlear implants. A significant change from traditionally followed unilateral cochlear implantation, this commendable feat also marked the beginning of a series of bilateral cochlear implants to follow at INHS Asvini and help implanted children develop binaural hearing, better listening skills and speech development. May the Cochlear Implant Team of INHS Asvini continue making profound and positive changes to lives of children afflicted by hearing loss.
