INS Chilka, the premier ab-into training establishment of sailors of Indian Navy celebrated its 43rd anniversary on 21 February 2023. Since its commissioning on 21 February 1980, establishment has evolved and augmented its facilities, infrastructure and methodologies keeping abreast with modern day training requirements. Towards implementation of Agnipath scheme, INS Chilka has been in forefront providing qualitative training to first batch of Aginiveers. Besides this, yeoman service has been rendered by unit during flood relief operations due to cyclone Fani and Yaas in 2019 and 2021 respectively. As part of anniversary celebrations, a cake cutting ceremony was organised in its traditional style.
