Ships of 1TS of Indian Navy, on a long-range training deployment off Mauritius, were requested to render support to Mauritian Coast Guard for removal of pollutants from a Taiwanese Fishing Vessel, Yu Feng No 67, that got grounded in December 2022 off St Brandon Island. Along with Mauritian Coast Guard Ship Barracuda, 1TS ships arrived off island on 09 March 2023 and heli-dropped a joint team on to fishing vessel for a salvage operation that was undertaken on 09 - 10 March 2023. The operation included over 30 helo sorties that salvaged over 300 kgs of pollutants.
