SNC hosted 27th NAQAS on 23 March 2023 with the theme of 'Attaining Aatmanirbhar Bharat - Mission Mode Quality Assurance for Military Air Assets' organised by Naval Aircraft Quality Assurance Service (NAQAS). The objective of seminar was to discuss the challenges and opportunities in achieving self-reliance in maintenance of military air assets and ensuring highest standard of quality assurance. The key note address was delivered by Shri Sanjay Chawla, Director General, Directorate General of Aeronautical Quality Assurance DGAQA. The seminar was attended by Rear Admiral Deepak Bansal, ACNS (Air Materiel), Rear Admiral Vikram Menon, FONA and several dignitaries from Navy, Army and Air Force. In addition, senior Scientist/ eminent personalities from various Centers of Excellence such as VSSC, NAL, IOC and Avi-Oil also participated. During the opening address, Rear Admiral Vikram Menon, emphasised the importance of Quality Assurance in ensuring that domestic manufacturers meet the stringent standards set by IAF. The ACNS (AM), in his address to the forum, emphasised on need for the Indian Armed Forces to rely on Indigenous manufacturing capabilities to achieve self-reliance and strengthen the nation's security. The technical presentation by eminent speakers from various Centers of Excellence brought out new trends / methods and cross pollination of ideas between civil and military aviation in the field of Quality Assurance. The forum deliberated on way ahead on various aspects of aeronautical quality assurance, encompassing existing policies and capability enhancement plans to meet the growing QA requirement for new generation aircraft. A Technology Expo partaking various prestigious Indian Industries was also held at Naval Base, Kochi, as part of the event. The Expo showcased complex diagnostic tools and calibration equipment to support military's air assets in the present and future.
