Chilka to Visakhapatnam leg of ‘Sham No Varunah’ Car Rally was flagged off by Admiral R Hari Kumar, CNS from INS Chilka on 29 March 2023. 180 Naval Personnel participating in Car Rally includes 20 Agniveers who passed out from INS Chilka on 28 March 2023. The rally is scheduled to reach Visakhapatnam on 29 March 2023. The participants are undertaking Beach Clean up at RK Beach and have several outreach programmes in city of Visakhapatnam on 30 March 2023. The expedition, which commenced from INS Netaji Subhas, Kolkata is planned to terminate at Lakhpat, Gujarat covering total distance of more than 7000km. The expedition is aimed at creating awareness about Indian Maritime History, issues pertaining to our maritime culture, Coastal Security awareness, showcasing of Nari Shakti, informing youth on career and life in Agnipath Scheme, reaching out to Naval Veterans/ Sahara Ladies and conduct of many social outreach programmes co-ordinated by NWWA. Leg 2 of motor car rally, covering a distance of 1770 KM from Visakhapatnam to Tirunelveli, will be flagged off by Vice Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan, COS, ENC from NCB Visakhapatnam at 0830h on 30 March 2023.
