Commodore Iftekhar Alam, assumed duties of Commanding Officer INS Tunir and Senior Officer Karanja on 17 April 2023 at a Ceremonial Parade held at Naval Station Karanja. With extensive experience in missile life cycle management, Commodore has held several key appointments in operations, R&D and staff billets in his naval career. He held an appointment of Commodore (Missiles) at IHQ MoD(N) prior assuming command.
