In continuation with the search operations at the boat accident at Malappuram, Naval diving team of SNC commenced diving operations at the site. Three inflatable crafts along with 15 divers were deployed in the area. Based on the inputs from the locals and district administration, a thorough underwater search using sophisticated Diver Held Navigation System DHNS was progressed. The equipment locates underwater objects using sonar beams. An approximate area of 10,000 sq m has been searched. The diving operations were continued till sunset on 08 May 2023. However, no bodies have been located so far. It is planned to resume search operations in coordination with the NDRF and local diving team with first light on 09 May 2023.
