As part of Puneet Sagar Abhiyaan, ENC has dedicated one day each month to undertake coastal cleanup activity including rivers/ lakes. The Coastal Cleanup activities for May 2023 were undertaken at Yarada Beach, RK Beach, Mangamaripeta Beach, Behind Vuda Park to East Point Light, Meghadripeta River Channel and Sea front areas on 13 May 2023. The aim of these cleanup activities is to create awareness amongst local communities regarding hazards of plastic usage and its impact on Oceans and Rivers. More than 550 service and retired Naval personnel along with their families and DSC personnel of ENC, and local residents participated in cleanup drives at coastal areas spread across the city. Approx. 670 Kg of non-biodegradable waste including plastic bottles, wrappers, thermocol, glass pieces etc were collected from these sites towards restoring pristine conditions.
