VAdm Dinesh K Tripathi, FOCINC WNC inaugurated maiden MAFI Project (Modernisation of Airfield Infrastructure) at INS Hansa, Goa on 19 May 2023. This Cat-II AFLS (Airfield Lighting System) and ILS (Instrument Landing System) capability will enable safe military and civil flying operations in extreme low visibility and adverse weather conditions, greatly enhancing overall preparedness of Air Station. CINC also inaugurated state-of-the-art Naval Airfield Integrated Security System at the air station. The fully automated system manufactured by M/s BEL will enhance overall security of Station. Six such systems will be inducted into Indian Navy in near future.
