The Sea Cadet Corps SCC of Kochi Unit celebrated its 48th Raising day at a special commemorative function at Naval Base, Kochi on 21 May 2023. The Sea Cadet Corps was set up in 1975 to train SCC Cadets enabling them to make career opportunities in Armed Forces. SCC Kochi unit is functioning under Seamanship School at SNC. Till date, 3707 cadets have successfully completed SCC training. This year,134 cadets have joined SCC Kochi Unit.
The Raising day celebrations was presided over by RAdm Upal Kundu, CSO Training, SNC who also felicitated family of Late Lt Cdr(SCC) O R Mohanlal for his selfless service. Lt Cdr(SCC) O R Mohanlal had dedicated 47 years of his life as an instructor and Training Officer of SCC Kochi Unit and was commended by FOCINC South in year 2000 and 2018 for his meritorious service in Corps.
