Commodore Deepak Bhatia assumed duties of Director, CELABS (Centre of Excellence in Ethics, Leadership and Behavioural Studies) on 22 May 2023. He is an alumnus of NDA, DSSC, Wellington, CDM, Secunderabad and NDC, Delhi. He is specialist in Navigation and Direction and has tenated several key appointments in Operations, training and staff billets. His previous appointments includes command of INS Beas, INS Nireekshak and tenures onboard varied afloat platforms including erstwhile INS Viraat. As part of his staff appointments, he has served at IHQ MoD(N), HQIDS, HQSNC, HQENC, HQANC and CGHQ. He was also Naval Component Commander in Andaman and Nicobar Islands from 2019 to 2021. Prior to his present appointment, he was Senior Instructor (Navy) at DSSC, Wellington.
