Commodore Rajneesh Sharma took over as NOIC(APD) from Commodore M Goverdhan Raju at a Ceremonial Divisions held at Naval Base, Visakhapatnam on 30 May 2023. Commodore Rajneesh Sharma is an alumnus of NDA, Pune. He was commissioned in Indian Navy on 01 Jul 1997 and specializes in Navigation and Direction. He is also a graduate of DSSC, Wellington and NWC, Goa. He has been Fleet Navigating Officer of Eastern Fleet, Executive Officer of INS Shivalik and has commanded INS Akshay and INS Deepak. His ashore appointment includes Commander Training Team at INA, Command Plans Officer of ENC and Directing Staff at NWC, Goa. The officer has also done a tenure on deputation with National Coast Guard, Mauritius. The officer is married to Smt Rekha Sharma, who is a practicing Acupressure Therapist and is actively involved in NWWA.
