As a run-up to World Environment Day on 05 June 2023, ENC organised a number of Bicycle rallies in different parts of Visakhapatnam City on 02 and 03 Jun 2023 to spread awareness about the preservation of our Environment and support the Mission Lifestyle For Environment (LiFE) initiative of GoI. The rallies consisting of more than 500 participants, were conducted by ND, Visakhapatnam, Eastern Fleet, INS Dega, INS Virbahu and INS Satavahana. The rallies promoted idea of preserving environment by switching over to a sustainable mode of transportation, reducing our carbon footprint and bringing much desirable change needed for a better, cleaner and greener future. The event also served as a platform to increase awareness about environmental conservation and sustainable transportation. Posters and banners reinforcing awareness of implementing environmentally friendly measures at workplace, in public places and at home were displayed along the route. The rally, coordinated by ND Visakhapatnam was flagged off and led by RAdm Sanjay Sadhu, ASD.
In addition, as a measure towards promotion of a clean environment and to reduce emission of Hydrocarbons, units observed 'No Vehicle Day' on 03 Jun 2023.
