World Environment Day 2023 under theme Beat Plastic Pollution was celebrated by NIAT. A mass clean up drive was conducted at Fort Kochi Beach and inliving barracks of Institute by more than 900 personnel. About 300 kgs of plastic and miscellaneous waste was collected during the drive. Plantation of 50+ diverse saplings was undertaken. Towards green awareness, a ready reckoner of these trees was prepared and shared. During the day, unit personnel attended a lecture on preservation and conservation of wild life and environment by officials of Department of Social Forestry and Wild Life, Govt of Kerala. NIAT families enthusiastically participated in painting/ poster making competition.
