World Environment Day was celebrated at Naval Aircraft Yard (Kochi) on 05 Jun 2023 aimed at creating awareness about conservation of environment and protection of nature. 520 yard employees along with the families participated in the event enthusiastically. Over 900 saplings sourced from the Kerala Forest Department were distributed to all the personnel of the unit for plantation in their residential areas. More than 100 saplings were also planted within the yard premises on this occasion. A cleanup drive was undertaken at Mahatma Gandhi Beach, Kochi. Commodore Superintendent, NAY(Kochi) he brought out the importance of maintaining ecological balance and urged them to continue the ‘Green Drive’ with similar zeal and enthusiasm in future as well.
