INS Trishul at Durban – day 4 activities

On day 4 of ship’s visit to Durban, personnel from INS Trishul alongwith officials of CGI Durban and a team from South African Armed forces participated in a yoga session, in run upto to International Day of Yoga 23 themed Ocean Ring of Yoga and Yoga from Arctic to Antarctica. Later in day, Indian Navy personnel visited Durban Naval base and were briefed on responsibilities of South African Navy. The team was given a tour of Base and a demonstration of operational diving capabilities. A cross visit of SAN personnel was undertaken, wherein visitors were given a tour of ship and a demo of VBSS, which was followed by professional interactions. Indigenous firefighting equipment and damage control gears were demonstrated during visit. The ship was open for visitors and welcomed guests from CGI staff, school and university students and members of Ethekwini municipality. The day concluded with a friendly volleyball match between Ship’s and SAN teams. In an unprecedented show of generosity and gratitude, team Trishul received a token of love in form of home-grown fruits and vegetables from residents affiliated with Child and Family Welfare Society of Durban, where Ship’s Team had undertaken an outreach on 08 June 2023.
