INHS Sanjivani achieved a milestone of undertaking double knee replacement surgery (both knees together) on 14 June 2023. Shri Ramankutty, a 63 year old father of serving soldier posted at Lucknow was hospitalised with severe pain in both knees due to advanced Osteoarthritis (stage IV). Simultaneous surgeries for replacement of both knees was done in a single sitting by medical team of INHS Sanjivani comprising orthopedics and anaesthetist. Post completion of surgical procedures, the patient was able to walk on first day post operation. It is the first ever double knee replacement done in INHS Sanjivani, a Zonal hospital of Armed Forces Medical Services other than Specialist ortho hospitals.
